Can you share a little bit of background on how the SMS service works?

On IOS I can see a message originating from “Tulip” but it does not seem to be possible to create a profile for this “contact” to, e.g. apply special ring-tone configuration etc.

Is there a trick to it?

Hi, @sebme

Tulip’s SMS messaging service is one of the primary communication channels supported within Tulip Clienteling [SMS Messaging - Documentation](https://docs.tulip.com/apps/clienteling/sms-messaging/smsmessaging)

Regarding your question about creating a profile for the “Tulip” contact, it seems that it is not possible to create a profile for this contact to apply special ring-tone configuration, etc [how does tulip sms service work - Search](https://bing.com/search?q=how+does+tulip+sms+service+work)
However, you can still receive SMS notifications from Tulip by validating your cell phone number within Tulip [How To Receive SMS Alerts Via the Trigger Editor](https://support.tulip.co/docs/how-to-receive-sms-alerts-via-the-trigger-editor)
Additionally, SMS messages cannot be sent to landlines, so users should not add landline numbers.

I hope this helps!
