# Option to Disable Step Comments at the Instance Level

We don’t use step comments, and I recently discovered there’s no way to delete them. It would be extremely helpful if there were an option to completely disable step comments at the instance level.
Occasionally, operators use step comments by accident, even though they’ve been instructed not to. This results in comments or concerns being left behind, with no easy way to review, manage, or clean them up afterward.

Just chiming in here as well: please remove the “Step Comments” button and functionality! Or build in the option for us to toggle it off in the account owner/instance settings. It is causing a lot of confusion. Thank you.

Hi @annie.walker and others on this thread,
Good news: we’ve been able to prioritized this, and are working on an update to allow customers to toggle off Step Comments in the Tulip Player, per instance .
This is currently slated for the next release. We’ll follow up when we have more information.

@nicolettenaya **Release 327** has a [setting to hide step comments](https://support.tulip.co/docs/platform-release-327-july-2025#:~:text=new%20setting%20to%20optionally%20hide%20step%20comments) from the player’s menu. Maybe that can help you?
