Has anyone integrated a temperature probe with Tulip? The use case is viewing the temperature of a solution and record temperature and time using a button, just like the Phidgets room temperature/humidity sensor works. I would like to use an ~8" (~20 cm) Type K Thermocouple.

I was going to get the supported Omron temperature logger, even though that seems like overkill. But, their website states they’re out of stock.

hey @tomeyer, thanks for posting and welcome to the Tulip Community!!

I’m also curious to see thermometers people have integrated with. have you taken a look at the other devices listed on our site: [Tulip Supported Devices](https://tulip.co/devices/#temperature-humidity-sensor)??

Thanks, Gio

Long time Tulip community stalker, first time posting.

I did look at the Tulip Supported devices. It seems like the Omega HH806 is my best bet (It appears I stated ‘Omron’ in my initial post by mistake). But, they are out of stock regardless of who they are.

I see that Phidgets will support an assortment of probes from their website, but that would require a thermocouple Phidget that isn’t supported by Tulip as far as I know.

hah, glad to see you posting @tomeyer!!

that’s correct, that thermocouple is not natively supported by Tulip unfortunately.

@tomeyer I know this was a long time ago. What has your experience been like with the HH806? Looking to buy some soon.

@AdamHadlock I gave up after a bit. I was pretty early in attempting to integrate devices and connecting this device was more or an academic adventure. It could also be my lack of knowledge of how the device works.

Maybe try integrating one before you order the rest?

Wow thanks for the fast reply. Likely this [Using the Omega HH806 Thermometer Driver](https://support.tulip.co/docs/using-the-omega-hh806-thermometer-driver) article didn’t exist when you were trying…

What path did you try? and what were the challenges?

@AdamHadlock Just happened to be at my desk clicking away!

The article could have been helpful. I could be wrong, but the device trigger in the article also looks updated from what I remember.

The device would take a temperature but it never seemed to transfer to the EdgeMC device I was running to. Out of desperation, I poured through the Omega documentation to see if there was a “send” command I was missing. I ended considering if my wire was bad and set the device aside.

Maybe I should give it another try.
