Linux Tulip Player parity with Windows?

If there’s documentation on the functional differences between Tulip Player on Linux and Windows I love to see it.

Currently we’re in the middle of a project launch for eDHR / MES. Of course we went with IT supplied Windows computers and installed Tulip player. The policies enforced on Windows Enterprise computers makes them slow. Additionally forced updates that require rebooting can be very disruptive.

I’m looking at completely rearchitecting how we deploy Tulip Stations potentially looking at solutions like Dell Native Edge. I could see a future where we centrally deploy an atomic linux based OS to the edge computer including Tulip Player where reboots would rarely be needed.

Currently I think I would only require scanner and Mitutoyo Uwave support but I think full parity with Windows is important.

Hi @Richard-SNN ,

Have you seen this KB article?

Please let me know if you find anything missing.

Sincerely,

Jake

Thanks for that! So it looks like the only potential problem is driver support as I expected. In my case, explicitly Mitutoyo Uwave support.
