Hello, I would like to make a product suggestion.
Is it possible to restrict users from duplicating apps? For example, the duplication of an app must be approved by an app owner? The issue is unauthorized app duplication and version control.

Hi Kevin, we have a document here around what permissions are needed to complete each action related to apps: Change Editing Permissions on Individual Apps
Question for you- which level do you think it should be tied to? Sometimes, we see customers create a “template” app with a bunch of helpful templates, and they ask their users to duplicate that app when starting a new one. So perhaps it should be tied to “edit” level permissions on a per-app basis?
Hi Kevin, thanks for the response. I agree, I think the “edit” level would be appropriate. We also create template apps that need to be duplicated (which is fantastic). We have other apps that we DO NOT want to be duplicated. Specifically - we have some global apps that should be migrated directly from a single instance to multiple instances. We really want there to be only ONE version of the “parent app” so that any updates need to be made to only to that single app. That way, the roll-out is easy. Not sure if that makes sense
Makes a lot of sense! This change is on our roadmap and we are hoping to deliver it by end of year. Stay tuned.
