Hello there.
My name is Ruairi McMahon, and I have been working directly for Panalok, an aerospace manufacturing company, where I’ve independently implemented Tulip across several critical areas.
To give you an idea of my work, I led the Tulip setup from the ground up at Panalok. I handled everything from sourcing the necessary hardware and touchscreens to setting up the network infrastructure and translation software like Kepware and MT-Connect, which bring machine data into Tulip.
This foundational work enabled me to develop many applications that have driven efficiency across our operations. Here are some highlights:
CNC Monitoring Application: Tracks live cycle times and production counts for all CNC machines, providing operators with hourly targets and driving productivity gains.
Part Inspection Application: Replaces manual inspection logs with barcode scanning, significantly improving speed and accuracy.
Torque Testing Application: Displays real-time part tolerances on a graph, helping operators ensure quality with each part.
Shipping Application: Connects shop floor staff with the office team, streamlining shipment visibility and reducing manual tasks.
Davenport Machine Monitoring: I integrated a custom light sensor into our completely mechanical Davenport machines. Through an API, this setup allows us to monitor machine status and part counts in Tulip, digitizing what was once a manual process.
I’ve been the sole architect behind each of these applications, taking challenges directly from management and independently developing and implementing solutions. My work has been shared with senior leaders at Stanley Black & Decker, who were impressed by the impact of these improvements. I’ve attached screenshots of a few advanced apps that utilize Tulip’s connectors, APIs, automations, custom widgets, and integrate with our onsite SQL database, fully syncing with our ERP system.
Having accomplished these projects, I’m excited to consider roles where I could support other teams in setting up Tulip, designing impactful applications, or helping new sites implement the platform.
