Ingersoll Rand Driver losing connection with MES post screw cycle

Hi, We have recently installed the latest IQI series Driver from Ingersoll Rand and we are seeing that intermittently after completing a torque cycle the driver loses connection to the MES.

Hi Marronator86,

Thanks for reaching out. We’re aware of intermittent connection issues with Ingersoll Rand IQI series drivers, especially after torque cycles finish. This behavior has been seen with some IQi11-FM and similar models due to compatibility gaps between Tulip’s Open Protocol driver and certain Ingersoll Rand firmware versions.

Here’s what to try:

  1. Use the Multi-Torque Player driver

    • Available in Player version 2.9 or later and more stable for IQI tools.

    • Let us know if you’d like help enabling it on your instance.

  2. Check your setup

    • Make sure the torque driver is enabled in Player and that the IP, port, and firmware settings match your controller.

    • Confirm you’re using the latest Player version.

  3. Follow connection best practices

    • Connect at app start and disconnect at app end.

    • Avoid repeated connect and disconnect actions during operation.

If the issue continues after switching to the Multi-Torque Player driver, please share your Player version and exact driver model so we can suggest next steps.

Best,
Nicolo
