Skills Matrix in the Tranining Management App Suite

Hello Tulip Community,

We’re planning an update to our Training Management App Suite, and we’re exploring the possibility of adding an extended Skills Matrix feature!

Our goal is to build tools that truly empower you and solve your daily challenges. That’s why, before we dive deep into development, we want to hear directly from you – the users who will be leveraging this new functionality.

We believe a Skills Matrix could offer significant value in tracking, managing, and developing your team’s capabilities, but we need your insights to make it truly effective. We’re looking to understand:

  • What data would you like to see in a Skill Matrix? (e.g., individual skill levels, proficiency across different machines/processes, training completion dates, certifications, last assessed date, target skill levels, etc.)
  • What are your primary use cases for a Skill Matrix? (e.g., identifying training gaps, planning training programs, re-skilling/up-skilling initiatives, onboarding new employees, performance reviews, resource allocation for projects, succession planning, etc.)
  • What specific requirements or functionalities would make a Skill Matrix indispensable for your operations? (e.g., easy visualization, filtering and sorting options, integration with other Tulip apps, ability to set and track goals, historical data, customizable skill categories, reporting capabilities, etc.)
  • Are there any existing challenges in managing skills and training that you believe a Skill Matrix could help solve?
  • Do you have any examples of skill matrices you’ve found particularly useful in other contexts?

Your feedback, ideas, and suggestions are invaluable as we shape this new feature. Please share your thoughts in the comments below. No idea is too small or too big!

Thank you for being an active part of the Tulip Community and for helping us build better products together.

Best regards,

The Tulip Library Team
