Hello- I have an app where I would like to have Tulip store a screenshot from our diagnostic program that runs alongside Tulip. The associate can instigate the screenshot, I just need a way to get it into Tulip. This would help us collect some descriptive info before rejecting an assembly. I do not see a way to do this, today. Though I could be wrong!
Hey @todd.hamilton, thanks for the question, and welcome to the community!
This is a good question. There are a few ways to think about this. The first would be to have the associate upload the screenshot from it’s local storage location. There’s an input widget for files that might be of help here.
The second is if it’s stored in an s3 bucket that can be accessed via URL. If you have the URL, you should be able to upload it into a table, where you can access it in applications.
Let me know if this makes sense or if you need any additional information.
Thanks for the follow-up, and sorry for the jargon! “S3 bucket” refers to a place that a lot of our customers store files through their AWS account.
I’m going to take this question back to our solutions team and see if there are other best practices we recommend for moving files that are stored locally into Tulip.
Our solution team confirmed that the simplest way to do this is to save a screenshot locally and then upload it via the camera input widget.
They also noted that if this is too many clicks and the other system screen has an HDMI output, you can try to connect it as an IP camera to the Tulip station and than grab a picture of the screen with a single click of a button. You can find some documentation below on how this would work. Let me know if this works for you!
