Hello guys,
I am trying to get data from an IO-Link master to node-red and from node-red to Tulip. The think is that my edge IO is connected to internet through the WAN Port (IP adress range 192.168.1.xx) and my existing master IP adress is also in the same range 192.168.1.xx. I tried to fix a static IP adress to the LAN port but this is not working in fact having same range for the two ports i can’t access the device portal. Is there any way to connect communicate with this master without changing it’s IP adress to 10.0.5.xx (LAN Port) ? Is the fact that the wan and the lan port are in the same range lock the device functions? Any suggestions to get this working ?
thanks,
Hi @FahdERM
I can confirm that both the LAN and WAN being in the 192.168.1.x range will not work. The device won’t know which interface to route traffic to. The device portal should be reachable after unplugging either the LAN or WAN cable to allow you to make any changes.
If the 2 devices are in the same range, I would suggest using a switch on the WAN side of the connection and connecting the IO-Link master and Edge IO to the switch.

Hi @amisch,
Thank you for your answer.
I will use a switch on the WAN Port.
