Hi Tulip Community,
I recently found some old meeting room wall displays and repurposed them to show data from Tulip instead.
It turned out to be a really fun weekend project, and surprisingly easy to set up if anyone wants to try something similar.
Integrating with the Tulip Tables API was straightforward, and with a little AI assistance, my display now shows a happy coffee cup that gradually becomes unhappier as more time passes since the coffee machine was last cleaned.
I also added a QR code to the display. The idea is to make it easy for someone to see that the machine needs cleaning, perform the cleaning!!, and immediately document it in Tulip. I’m currently using a “Copy Player Link” URL, which works quite well.

My questions are:
- Has anyone found a way to launch a Tulip app and always force it to start on the first step, avoiding the Green “Begin” button?
- Is there a smart way to pass parameters from a QR code into an app? For example, something like:
...?equipment_id=123
My goal would be to use the same app for multiple pieces of equipment and have the QR code identify which asset the user is interacting with.
Hope you’re all enjoying the summer and not melting!![]()
Kind regards
Asger
