AI to the rescue
Context:
Many of our applications rely heavily on columns that represent the state of an entry or process, typically using predefined terms such as “NEW”, “IN PROGRESS”, “PAUSED”, or integer codes corresponding to specific states. These states may be defined by English-speaking developers or originate from external APIs using technical or numeric identifiers.
Request:
We would like the platform to support dynamic, runtime replacement of these state values with localized or user-friendly labels tailored to the operator’s language or business context. Specifically, this feature should enable:
- Mapping of existing state values (strings or integers) to alternative display labels without modifying the underlying data.
- Support for multiple languages or custom terminology sets, allowing operators in different regions or roles to see states in their native language or preferred vocabulary.
- The ability to configure these mappings centrally or per app, with minimal development effort.
Benefit:
This capability will enhance usability and reduce confusion for end users by presenting process states in clear, localized terms, while maintaining the technical integrity of the underlying data model.
