Instead of the shared URL link for a dashboard for everyone, have a list of people that have read access to the dashboard instead. This would help with managing who has access to the dashboard as when a person leaves the company and their access should be terminated for example. Currently, to cut off access to one person would need to stop sharing to everyone and restart a new share link and sending this new one out to everyone. Also it would be good to see the entire list of people who actually has access especially when people share their link with other people that shouldn’t have access.
Hey @Attaboy, thanks for your post!
Would the people on your list have Tulip accounts?
Users with Tulip accounts with a role other than Operator are able to view dashboards via the non-shared link. So for those you don’t need to create the publicly accessible link.
The shared link is intended only for use with people who do not have Tulip user accounts. This is because if they do not have Tulip accounts, there would need to be a way to authenticate the user and then check if they are authorised to access the dashboard. This is something that we are currently not supporting. And adding this is also currently not on the roadmap.
But I’m still very interested in learning more about your use case. Should the people don’t have Tulip accounts, what authentication method would you have in mind for them?
