Ability to close apps overnight when the station is offline

Is there a way to make apps close automatically after a certain time, e.g. 10 hours, or switch to the “splash screen” when the player is closed?
Unfortunately, this is not possible using the timer function, as it does not trigger when the player is not open.

Hi Fabehe,

If you navigate to Settings > Player > Auto Logout, you’ll see a few options that may address your issue.

I think the automated logout behavior and what it actually means for any running app session in terms of completions and data integrity is not yet well documented. In fact, this is still raising an eyebrow here as well.

Hi @sebme,

Thank you for the recommendation - we will look to update the documentation around our logout behavior.

Sincerely,

Jake

Hi @jakerigos, could you please share how it is working right now or when a more detailed explanation to this can be expected?

Hi @sebme,

I will work to get a detailed Knowledge Base article up/updated in the next few weeks.

Sincerely,

Jake

@jakerigos Control here is significantly restrained by the fact that there is no way to trigger Tulip logic when a player goes offline or comes online. If we could set triggers to fire “On Station Online” or “On Station Offline”, we could very easily mitigate this issue with trigger logic.

The best work around currently is to utilize 30 second timers to check for if it has been > 10 hours of activity, but this is a pretty bad experience as operators who log in to the Tulip app will be able to use it normally for the first 30 seconds.

Hi Preston,

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately this does not work for my usecase. I would like to close only specific apps automatically. The background to this is that active players block table records and it is therefore not possible for example to delete data records.

Hi Jake, any update on this?

Hi @sebme,

Thank you for the reminder, I checked with the team and tested and documented the behavior here.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Sincerely,

Jake

@jakerigos Awesome, thank you. May I ask what is “validation mode” in this context? A “feature flag”?

Hi @sebme,

Validation Mode/GxP Mode is a set of features flag that are enabled for Regulated Customers. Read more here. I’ll update and link in the attached article!

Sincerely,

Jake
