Add Player Open and Close Events for Running Apps

As an app developer, I want to react to app opening and app closing events so that I can execute logic tied to the app lifecycle.

These events are different from the existing App Started, App Completed, and App Cancelled triggers. An app can be opened or closed without being started, completed, or cancelled. (Opening and closing the player, while the app runs)

Common use cases include:

  • Releasing or clearing record placeholders when a user leaves an app unexpectedly.
  • Checking for the latest app version when an app is opened.
  • Writing audit logs when users enter or leave an app.
  • Cleaning up temporary state or session-related data.

Please add dedicated trigger options for:

  • App Opened (when the player opens with a running app)
  • App Closed (when the player is closed while the app runs)

While there are workarounds for some opening scenarios using custom widgets, and an instance-wide setting exists to log out users when the player is closed, these solutions are either limited in scope or affect the entire instance. Native app-level triggers would provide a more flexible and reliable solution for many common use cases.
