App ID information when comparing versions of an app

Hi.

It would be great if there was a clear information about app ID when comparing different versions of an app.

This can be used as an evidence during app verification, since the app ID is unique and therefore a trustworthy reference.

Hi @HCEH , thanks for posting! I’ve forwarded this to the team.

Could you share a bit more about how you’re using version comparison in your validation workflow today? For example:

  • Are you using the Compare Versions output as part of formal verification documentation (e.g. screenshots for an audit trail)?

  • Beyond the app ID, is there other metadata you’d want on that screen (e.g. version timestamps, who published each version)?

This is good feedback for the version comparison experience, and also for validation.

One more question: you mention a trustworthy reference. Did something happen where the wrong ID/app version was referenced by accident?

Thanks @OlgaStroilova

We are currently not using the version comparison feature for anything, but I see a great potential in this when we are going to optimise our app development and verification flow.

However, as you also mentioned, some important metadata would be a great asset. Besides App ID, it would also be great to have timestamps of the selected Snapshot and Versions (adhere Version status e.g. approved or pending) that are being compared.

For us it is not that important who created or published the snapshot/version.

Thanks!

Gotcha, this makes sense. I’ve forwarded this feedback along.

We keep an eye on upvotes to help with prioritization.
