Customize Native Tulip Menu

Enable customization of features within the native Tulip menu. Currently, the menu widget/trigger displays a standard set of options (as seen in the screenshot).

Suggestion: Implement account-level settings to allow administrators to customize the menu options presented to users.

Hi @nicolettenaya,

Thank you for your input here.

To be clear, what other options would you want to add or remove from this menu? Or is it more around the colors/peripherals?

Sincerely,

Jake

Hi Jake,

For example, we don’t use—or encourage our operators to use—the step comments feature. When people do use it, their information often gets lost, even though we’ve communicated not to use on that functionality.

Additionally, what if we could include a direction to navigate to our own standard apps, such as our Send Help Message app or our Health and Safety documentation app? Making these easily accessible anywhere the menu button appears, across all apps, would be extremely helpful.

Being able to customize the buttons on the menu screen would enable this additional level of personalization and usability.

Following up here- @jakerigos We are able to remove the “Pause App” button but don’t have the ability to remove the step comments. Is there a reason for that?

Additionally, where is the app completion time located in the Player menu? I’m unable to see it in my player menu (or maybe I’m looking in the wrong place).

Hi @nicolettenaya,

I don’t think there’s a specific reason for not being able to remove step comments.

For the app completion setting, you can see the app completion time after clicking into “Restart App”

Sincerely,

Jake

Thanks @jakerigos! I see it now.

We would love to see a similar boolean toggle for step comments.

Adding to this post/product suggestion @jakerigos – We don’t use step comments at all, and I recently discovered there’s no way to delete them. If there’s an option to completely disable step comments in our instance, that would be really helpful.

We have operators who occasionally use them by accident, even though they’ve been instructed not to. They end up leaving comments or concerns there, and there’s no easy way to navigate through or manage them afterward.

Please let me know if this should be a separate product suggestion.

@nicolettenaya, I would recommend a separate product suggestion.
