Hi Team,

I noticed some exciting changes to the expression editor! Wanted to flag a feature request in hopes that it could be investigated.

When typing in the expression editor, if you want to down select from the thousands of potential inputs and functions, you have to type the exact wording in order. This is made difficult by the fact that most inputs are prefixed with either “Table Record” or “Variable”.

I have had to type in things like @Table Record.Current Work Order.Part Number so many times in my life. It would be amazing if fuzzy search could be added to this window so that I could just type Part Nu, down arrow, enter. This window is also very challenging for users to scroll through the long list of potential inputs so I feel this would be a big win for new users too.

Thanks @danielpomeranz for the post. This is a known request and it’s helpful to have it reflagged and upvoted.

We have longer term plans for improving the UX, functionality, and performance of the Expression editor, and have been chipping away with some short term improvements - thanks for noticing the recent release!

The team responsible for Expressions is heads down working on Functions, so bigger improvements to Expressions would likely be after we wrap up Functions GA. But let me flag this one to the team as well, to see if there’s anything small we can do quickly here.

I reviewed this with the team and confirmed that fuzzy search would be better to do after investing more in the performance of the editor, i.e. after Functions GA.
