I recently was working on an app when I noticed the trigger shortcuts have been hidden behind a three dot menu.
I honestly do not see an added benefit to this change, and it makes the experience of developing applications slower and more difficult. I am humbly requesting the team to reconsider this change and to bring back the shortcut icons.
Which shortcuts are you referring to that are slowing you down, is it just the copy and cut options, or is it the edit one too? As part of this change, we made the trigger name clickable so that it was easier to access then using the small icon.
I wonder if instead of bringing back the small “cut/copy” icons (which were a bit challenging to point and click, in my opinion), if it would be better to request a “ctr + c” hot key feature, which can be performed after clicking on the trigger?
We’re currently working on an update to this element that will bring back the easy access cut/copy functionality while still maintaining the new improvements that we’ve added with this change. Will post here to confirm once its ready!
Just wrapping up this thread to confirm that the next regular release will include this “re-addition”, meaning that you’ll still be able to quickly see the description without clicking into the trigger, but will also have the previous behaviour of cut/copy showing up on hover. Also want to point out that it will not include the explicit edit icon anymore since that functionality is now accessed by clicking on the trigger name, much like the other objects in the platform.
Thanks again for voicing how this impacted your efficiency in app building, we’re always interested to learn even more ways that we could improve your efficiency!
