User Input with an spell checker

Hello everyone,

I’ve noticed that the Tulip Player currently doesn’t have a built-in spell check for input fields. This is causing me, and I suspect other users, to frequently make typos when entering data. These errors can really impact the quality of the data we’re collecting, and potentially lead to problems down the line.

My Proposed Solution:

I’d really like to see an optional spell check feature added to the Tulip Player. Ideally, we could have a setting to turn it on or off, depending on our needs.

Here are some things I think would be important:

  • Multiple Language Support: It would be great if the spell check worked in different languages, as many of us work in multilingual environments.
  • Custom Dictionary: The ability to add specific words or industry terms to a personal dictionary would be very helpful.
  • Visual Cues: Like in most text editors, highlighting misspelled words with a red underline would make them easy to spot.
  • Contextual awareness: If technically possible, a contextual spell check would be a great addition.

Why I think this would be beneficial:

  • It would significantly improve the accuracy of the data we’re entering.
  • It would make data entry much smoother and more efficient.
  • It would help prevent errors in processes that rely on the data we collect.
  • It would make the data collected look more professional.

In conclusion:

I genuinely believe that adding spell check to the Tulip Player would be a valuable improvement. I hope the Tulip team and the community will consider my suggestion.

Hi @tizianeichler,

Thank you for the well-written product suggestion. While it’s not something we are planning for at the moment, it’s a great consideration going forward.

Sincerely,

Jake

At least my tulip player has my browser default spell checks…
(In my case set up to English and German).

However the right click does not help here:
