I have read up on the Multilingual feature linked that is only available by enterprise plan. Since I am still in sandbox, I can’t access it. The article makes it seem like I need to manually provide translation for each label I produce. Let’s say I create an app entirely in English. With lots of labels, table column labels, etc. What process do I need to take to just add 1 language?
To my understanding, it doesn’t seem like I can just add Spanish, and it translates everything for me.
I need to add many languages for support, and don’t want this to be a tedious task.
You’re right that multilingual support is only available on Enterprise plans. Tulip recently added an AI translation option that can automatically translate your app text instead of doing it all manually.
To use it:
Open your app in the editor and click Enable Translation in the top right.
Choose your default and target languages.
Click Translate with AI to create translations automatically.
Review and edit any text that needs fixing.
Save your changes. Users can then switch languages in the Player or in their profile.
The AI translation covers things like text widgets, buttons, and table labels and supports over 25 languages. It’s best to double-check the translations, especially for technical terms.
This feature was introduced around the LTS11 release, so not all environments have it yet. You can check by going to Settings > About Tulip. If your workspace is on LTS11 or newer, you should see the Translate with AI button. If you’re using an older or sandbox version, you’ll still need to add translations manually.
In short, AI translation is available for Enterprise workspaces on newer versions. If you don’t see the option yet, it might not be enabled in your environment.
