Hi everyone,
I am looking for options to print ZPL labels from Tulip via a Windows Print Server.
My current understanding is that the Tulip Zebra Network Printer function requires direct communication to the printer, for example via the printer IP/socket. In this case, standard is to use a central Windows Print Server with shared printer queues for monitoring, logging, and queue management. This also ensures that production stations cannot access those printers directly but only via the print server.
I also assume that the regular Tulip “Print Step” functionality will most likely not work for this use case, since it is not intended to send raw ZPL code to a printer queue.
Is there any Tulip-native way to send raw ZPL to a Windows Print Server queue, or would this require a middleware approach, for example Tulip → Node-RED → Windows Print Server?
Any experience or recommended architecture for this would be appreciated.
Thanks!
