We are excited to announce the release of the Spatial Add-On for MES. We collaborated with ZeroKey to create five app templates which leverage ZeroKey’s Quantum RTLS 2.0 technology to bring spatial awareness to your MES.
The apps offer best practices for bringing ZeroKey’s precision tracking into Tulip apps for the following use cases:
Due to prioritization I don’t see our big DC latching on to this terribly soon (it would need an upgrade LTS anyway, that’s another hurdle).
However, we are very interested in leveraging this location data in concert with customer service order data to optimize the putaway process, so that kits commonly ordered together can be putaway together, speeding up the picking process. Also for the less common add-on kits, looking for software to plan efficient routes for remaining picks.
For high priority kits (high value / low inventory / urgent demand), we discussed tagging them at inbound to have realtime location. (We would also need to remove the tags at outbound before shipping, as they are not approved for washer-disinfector or autoclave exposure.)
For lower priority kits, having the barcode scanner tagged to record the putaway location should be adequate. Same for kit replenishment inventory.
This could drive massive efficiency for our loaner kits process.
