Integration of RTLS (Real-Time Location Systems) with Tulip?

I have a warehouse use case wherein barcoded kits are scanned to barcoded carts, but the physical location of the carts might be unknown.

We are beginning to research options for a Real-Time Location System through which we could have live physical location for all the carts, and therefore all the kits on all the carts.

The carts could technically be anywhere within the warehouse, and not just at predetermined “parking spaces”.

If anyone has had success integrating an RTLS with Tulip, please share what you can.

Thanks!

Jim

I know we talked about this briefly in Office horus, but for the sake of sharing with others in the Community who weren’t there - these were 2 options:

  1. Zero Key - Tulip & ZeroKey | Tulip
  2. @mellerbeck’s homemade solution that he shared recently in Show & Tell - One method to get GPS data from a mobile device into a Tulip app

Curious if anyone else has any ideas or has tried something similar though!

I think @wz2b has also built an RFID location tracking system w/ Tulip and Grafana. Am I remembering this correctly @wz2b?

Hey Jim,

Tim here from ZeroKey. I wanted to add a bit of additional info about our 1.5mm accurate indoor positioning system Quantum RTLS, which is fully integrated with Tulip. We’ve actually supported a very similar use case to what you are describing, with the apps shown in this video built entirely in Tulip. You can see this in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fljd-6ZPeP8

We have a suite of custom widgets to support these types of use cases, and our system is scalable across large areas like you are describing. If you have any questions about how the integration works or the specifics of the case study I linked to above, please let me know!

Thanks for the response here @tim.carlielle. I’m a big fan of the ZeroKey demos we have in our TEC, but I hadn’t seen that video before. Very cool integration and use-case!
