Creating timer from when start button pressed to when end button pressed

I am trying to create a work station for a laser operator and in order to gauge how long things are taking I want to have a timer start when he presses the start button and have the timer end when he presses the end button. I then want this time data to export to a table to be able to track the time taken on specific jobs and such. Anyone know if this is possible?
