Date format in machine timeline widget & Date Localization

Hi Community,
I’d like to request an enhancement regarding date formatting in machine timelines and other widgets that use abbreviated dates.

Currently, the abbreviated dates shown within the timeline itself (and other widgets) follow a fixed, standard format. This creates some inconsistency and can be confusing, especially for global teams that rely on specific date formats (e.g., DD/MM/YYYY).

As a possible solution, you can add an additional setting in Account Settings to allow users to define a custom format specifically for abbreviated dates used in machine timelines.

Thanks!

Thanks Denis,

Acknowledge the value of localized DateTimes especially in dashboards. We’ll review this in the next triage to see if there’s a quick improvement we can slot in.

We’ll also keep an eye on this post for upvotes to help with prioritization.

Hi Olga, has this feature request been acknowledged and implemented? I have a customer requesting for the same feature. Thank you!

HI @mathknop this is a ticket in our backlog, but it hasn’t been prioritized yet.

We look at Community votes, Customer/Partner impact, and level of effort to assess quick wins we can fit in. Any additional detail on the value of this request to you or the underlying problem you’re solving would be helpful.

Is the primary issue for you - confusion as to the timezone for Global Teams? Or is there another pain point you’re seeing?

Hi Olga,

The main confusion is for every user having datetime format set as DD:MM:YYYY.

If there is any explanation behind this visualization or any hidden value that is not currently visible - I’d be happy to hear more about it. Otherwise, I assume the date format should remain consistent across the entire instance.
