Donut Chart on App Variables Data

App variables get data assigned when the step is opened/loaded, data is assigned to the variables with the help of the Step Triggers. These App Variables data should be represented in the Donut Chart on the respective step dashboard !!

how can it be done ?

Thanks,
Shashi Preetham

hello @psp316r, thanks for posting!!

depending on what Analysis type you’re using, it’s certainly possible to display App Variables in an Analysis as a Donut Chart. once you create an Analysis, you can click on Display > Donut Chart to change the format:

could you let us know if this works for you??

Hi @gio ,

Thanks for the quick response, done the same configurations, but not able to see the Donut Chart.

OK, thanks for sharing this @psp316r.

the issue is likely that there isn’t data to be displayed with the Analysis parameters you defined. could you change the DATE RANGE to “All Time” and let us know if that displays data in the Donut Chart?? thanks!!

Hey @gio ,

As explained before, these are App Variables and the data is stored in to the variables when respective step in app is opened/loaded

Thanks,
Shashi

OK got it @psp316r!!

the Donut Chart should still be displaying if they’re App Variables that are populated on App Started/Closed. I was asking about the date range as the Donut Chart you created will only display Completion data from today (as it’s set to Current Week) and wanted to confirm there was data in the Variables.

could you share a screenshot of your Completion Data tab?? similar to:

thanks!!

Hey @gio ,

Here is the Screenshot which you requested:

Thanks,
Shashi…

OK, so it seems that there isn’t data to populate in the Donut Chart. if you change the Start Date to an earlier date, do you see information populate in the Completion tab??

Hey @gio ,

No, can’t see the data for any selected time period !!

Thanks,
Shashi

OK, I think that may be the issue. to help troubleshoot, could you:

  • share the Trigger that is storing the data to the Variable
  • confirm there is an App Completion
  • confirm you’re running the app from a Player, and not from Developer Mode

thanks!!

Hey @gio ,

Thanks,
Shashi

ah, OK thanks for sharing!!

Hey @gio ,

As Suggested by you, added the completion, after the completion of the app the data completion is shown on the Test run (Developer Mode) as shown in the below pic:

Even though the data is empty in the completions of the app…

hello @psp316r, great to hear!! for the data to appear on the Analytics, you will need to run the App from a Player which you can download here or by running it from a web-based Player (https://{your_instance}.tulip.co/player).

you can learn more about running Players vs. Developer Mode here: How to Use "Developer Mode" To Test Apps | Tulip Knowledge Base - Support for Building Operations Apps.

Hey @gio ,

Getting the data, thanks for the help. You can close the Ticket !!

Thanks,
Shashi

great to hear!! let us know if you have any other questions.
