Could we look at the ability to have the Tulip Player Logout Settings also applied to specific stations or interfaces?
There are times when certain interfaces we’d like for them to be logged out after a certain amount of time. An example would be shared devices like tablets and phones.
However other devices we’d like to be able to stay always logged in. An example would be stations assigned specifically to a person like a personal laptop, tablet or phone.
We also have a number of devices we use as check-ins for visitors to our site and can be frustrating to have someone walk over and log their badge ID in when a new visitor arrives.
Hi @erikheckler,
Thank you for the feedback. Is the behavior usually tied to a station group or an app?
The reason I’m digging in is that managing this on a station by station basis would likely be onerous.
Sincerely,
Jake
Hi Jake -
This would be best utilized in a station group. We have a group of stations that we have tablets assigned to. All of those tablets could have different users logged onto them at any given date / time. When the users are done using the tablets they return them to the charging areas until a different user comes to utilize it.
So it’s advantageous for there to be a timeout activity on those stations.
This forces the unique user to log back in when they use the device and we can utilize user data structures in apps in meaningful ways.
It also allows for users to not have to manually log out when the return the device. And prevents even in the case they’re instructed to log out if they forget.
