Managing the import of large numbers of work instructions

Good afternoon,

I was wondering how other users have managed the importing of large numbers of work instructions into Tulip for use within dynamic work instructions applications.

We have used the Work Instructions Kit builder application in the past and this works well when there are a limited number of instructions that need to be defined but we will soon have a requirement to transfer/digitalise 1000+ Work Instructions and this will become very arduous to do with the kit builder alone.

Does anyone have experience with similar projects and have any solutions to simplify the process?

There are 2 scenario’s I am mainly considering for now:

  1. The work instructions are stored as PDF’s in SOP format - does anyone have experience in digitalising these en masse for use in work instructions apps that store WI tasks and operations within Tulip tables?
  2. The work instructions are stored within Excel files, allowing for a direct upload to a “Work Instructions Task” Tulip table - In this scenario, a key challenge will be uploading the guidance images that accompany each instruction.

Many thanks!

Kind regards,

Hey Suraj,

I highly recommend exploring the Tulip AI Composer, specifically designed to automate the heavy lifting of digitizing documents.

The AI Composer automates PDF extraction. You can drag and drop your SOPs directly, and the AI identifies tasks, data collection points, and structure without manual entry. Crucially, it automatically extracts images from the source document and maps them to the correct steps, converting these instructions into near-production-ready apps for you to review.

You can check out the full guide here: Tulip AI Composer Overview.
