Will replacing the link tulip-player:// to https://<instancename>/open-player?tulip-player= , solve the problem?

the captured Link will look like so: tulip-player://xxxxxx
If you send this by eMail it will usually not be clickable.

just change the link to:
https://{instance-name}.co/open-player?tulip-player=xxxxxx
this link will be clickable and works the same.

However what I experienced (as a bug) on both types of link:
When the player is closed, often the last app gets opened and not the one, the link is from.
When the player is opened and I click the link (again) it will open the wanted app…
