I’m trying to use Align Vertical / Align Horizontal and running into issue figuring out how Tulip determines which object will move, and which will remain stationary.
Additionally, ctrl + z (undo) does not seem to work after using these buttons.
This may be a feature request, but I thought I would start with asking for help, thanks 
If we’re talking UX improvements, I wouldn’t say no to a “lock widget” option. when toggled, this would prevent the widget from being moved around when other widgets are selected/moved. I would expect similar functionality to photoshop/illustrator.
Use case is I spend too much time selecting/moving 20+ widgets and then discovering I only meant to move 17 widgets.

All widgets will be aligned to the outer boundary of the widget you are aligning to - if you align to the top, the widget at the highest position in the screen will remain stationary whilst the other widgets move to the highest position.
This applies to alignment in any direction - any widgets to the right of the left most widget will be moved to the left if using align to left for example. The left side of the widgets being moved will be matched to the position of the left side of the widget that is already furthest to the left.
Does this make sense?

Thanks for the reply. Thanks for describing the behavior of the top/bottom alignment. The main confusion I had was when using the centering alignment, and I think I have now figured it out. As seen in this image when I click align vertical it moves Block 1 down to Block 2, even though Block 1 is closer to the middle.
After completing more testing, I found Align to Middle always moves the top object down and Center Align always moves the left object right. So you can control which object stays stationary by moving the other object to the upper left hand corner
