I am trying to connect my Tulip table to Power BI. I followed the instructions on Tulip’s website. (PowerBI Desktop Integration) I used credentials from a Tulip bot. After putting in my user and password (API Key and Secret) I received the following message “Expression.Error: Access to the resource is forbidden.” Is access forbidden because of my Tulip instance and is there a way I can change the parameters to allow access. (for reference I am an account owner)
My goal: I would like to use the data from a Tulip table to create a dashboard in Power BI. I want the dashboard to dynamically update as new records are created.
Hi Eve,
I would fist confirm the TulipTableId and the Instance url are correct, you probably followed the video from the library so chances are this is not the issue.
If they are, the problem might come with the credentials, to update your credentials, you can open the “Data Source Settings”, there you will find the configured datasource and be able to clear or edit permissions/credentials.
Let me know if this helps,
Seb

I double-checked the instance using the video, and that is correct. I agree it is probably an issue with credentials. I am using credentials from the API token in Tulip. Is this correct? Or do I need credentials from my organization?
Yes, you will want to create an API token in Tulip’s settings. You can find the steps outlined here.
Once you have created a token you can edit the Basic credentials in Power BI: use the API Key as the username, and the Secret as the Password.
