I have noticed that when making changes in node red that sometimes I need to reboot my Edge IO. The issue is that the IO is on the other side of the plant and currently requires a scissors lift access, is there any want to reboot the device remotely? Can this be done with a connector function sending a command to Node Red?
Hi @whipplems!
The short answer: There is not a way to remotely reboot the Edge IO.
The long answer:
It sounds like your node-red changes are crashing node-red (or the device), which shouldn’t be happening! It would be helpful to know why the device is crashing to further debug and understand the root cause of needing to reboot the device.
After node-red crashes (but before rebooting the device), if you can go to the device portal → grab the device logs (specifically the node-red service logs) we can take a look at those and they should prove helpful here
I am making this into a Support Ticket for you, so that way you can provide the logs to on of our Support Engineers and they can help you debug this further. You should see that support ticket in your email
Thanks, for your quick response. I have not been able to duplicate this issue this week on either Edge MCs or my Edge IOs. If I can get it to happen again I will forward the relevant data.
