Is anyone using a signature pad (e.g. Topaz) to log written inputs (e.g. signatures, initials) from personnel (e.g. visitors, non-users) to store in Tulip tables or app completion data?
Hey Jim,
I’ll check more on this internally, but I do think the majority of folks are using the e-signature widget. Is your use-case here non-GxP where you want/need a physical signature?
Hi @Beth
I was also thinking about another solution for lower security environments.
The issue I am confronted with is, that I have a touch screen terminal running on a pool user and I find it kind of bulky to always fill in the MS Authentication form on the touch screen.
It would be enough to check some checkboxes and only be able to save them in combination with a scanned card or a hand written signature.
I’m still not sure, what the sweet spot is for my use case, but I don’t think it is the signature widget…
So I appreciate the irony here…but one such use case is that we have a GxP requirement to maintain a signature log so that personnel signatures and initials can be matched with their name, employee ID, etc. Normally this exists as a paper log, but as we strive to move to an entirely paperless environment, and this would ultimately ideally become obsolete, we still have to check the box at least in the interim and have a means to record non-user signatures and attribute them to the employee ID and name to meet this requirement.
Another case wherein we would want to be able to capture a physical signature of a non-Tulip user in an electronic format would be for visitor logs or trailer inspection checklists, etc. In this case the personal making the input (not a credentialed Tulip user) would be typing in their name, then signing or initialling via electronic means, and the system would be recording the date/time for their input. The app would have been started by a credentialed Tulip user who is interacting with the 3rd party making this input.
**Is the e-signature widget part of the “pre-validated” functionality of the LTS releases? **
In which LTS did that become available?
We still might need a plug-and-play option as not all of our station displays are touch enabled.
