I need to be able to initiate events based on the Cycle Time off each step (ie, when the step timer runs out, the app skips to the next step automatically or whatever events I choose)

in the meantime, have you attempted running a Trigger on a Timer and checking the Target Cycle Time vs. the Time Elapsed?? something like this should achieve what you’re attempting to build:

Is it possible for the time to fire more frequently than every 30 seconds?

it is now possible to get triggers that fire up to every second, if you could send me via direct message your account URL I will get these enabled for you.
